http://www.cineblog.it/post/400091/london-...d-aaron-eckhart

Eckhart in testa.

Mah ho i miei dubbi... :mmm: <_< <_<

Olympus Fell, Now Sequel ‘London Has Fallen’ Set For October 2015; Gerard Butler Returning

You’ll remember in 2013 — with “Independence Day 2” still on the backburner — that Hollywood saw fit to pit two shit-goes-crazy-in-the-White-House movies against each other just a few months apart. Both “White House Down” and “Olympus Has Fallen” were released with pretty much the same storylines: bad guys/terrorists take over the White House and a “Die Hard”-like John McClane has to save the day (with a little help from the POTUS).

Based on buzz alone, you probably thought “White House Down” won that battle hands down. Not so. The Antoine Fuqua-directed “Olympus Has Fallen” outgrossed the Roland Emmerich-helmed ‘WHD’ by $25 million domestically. While Emmerich’s film won out worldwide by some $40 million, Fuqua’s cost almost half the price of the $150-millon-costing “White House Down.” Thus the reason you understand why there’s a sequel to the seemingly lesser “Olympus Has Fallen” (which was certainly reviewed much more harshly).

Yep, there’s going to be a sequel called “London Has Fallen.” Focus Features (who merged with FilmDistrict last year, the company that distributed ‘Olympus') announced today that they have acquired U.S. distribution rights for the sequel they plan to release nationwide on October 2, 2015.

The “Die Hard”-ish formula continues with Gerard Butler back in the lead. Here’s the new synopsis:

The sequel begins in London, where the British Prime Minister has passed away under mysterious circumstances. His funeral is a must-attend event for leaders of the Western world. But what starts out as the most protected event on earth, turns into a deadly plot to kill the world's most powerful leaders and unleash a terrifying vision of the future. Only three people have any hope of stopping it: the President of the United States, his formidable secret service head (Butler), and an English MI-6 agent who rightly trusts no one.

So intriguing. We assume this means Aaron Eckhart is back as the president, but maybe his term is up by then. Written by Creighton Rothenberger & Katrin Benedikt, no one is on board to direct yet, but hell, that never stopped a movie from making its release date before. These things practically direct themselves, right?

Buona Notte e Sogni d'Oro a Tutte :fiore:

:mmm:

Just a little bit of an exclusive tip off here, expect London Has Fallen, sequel to manly movie Olympus Has Fallen, to film at Nu Boyana in Bulgaria mid-September. Business as usual there, with the first movie going through the same process. The movie is currently in pre-production with "huge" sets currently being constructed at Nu Boyana.

http://manlymovie.net/2014/07/london-has-f...ng-delayed.html

Filming for London Has Fallen, sequel to Olympus Has Fallen, has been delayed from September to December. The film will shoot primarily in Bulgaria. It’s not clear why the delay has come in yet. A director is also still not officially attached to the movie.

However it looks like it’s probably routine scheduling as work is currently ongoing at Nu Boyana studios in Bulgaria to create physical reproductions of some of the tallest buildings in London. This was confirmed to ManlyMovie by a source close to Nu Boyana a few weeks ago, the constructions being described as “huge”.

London Has Fallen Reveals Plot Details as Production Begins

Principal photography has begun on Millennium Films and Focus Features' London Has Fallen, the sequel to last year's hit Olympus Has Fallen.

Gerard Butler again stars as Secret Service agent Mike Banning, alongside Aaron Eckhart as the President of the United States. Also returning are Morgan Freeman as Vice President Trumbull, Angela Bassett as Secret Service Director Lynne Jacobs, and Melissa Leo as Defense Secretary Ruth McMillan. Babak Najafi (Snabba Cash II) directs the thriller from a screenplay by Creighton Rothenberger & Katrin Benedikt (Olympus Has Fallen), Christian Gudegast and Chad St. John.

The story begins in London, where the British Prime Minister has passed away under mysterious circumstances. His funeral is a must-attend event for leaders of the western world. However, what starts out as the most protected event on Earth turns into a deadly plot to kill the world's most powerful leaders, devastate every known landmark in the British capital, and unleash a terrifying vision of the future. Only three people have any hope of stopping it: the President of the United States, his formidable Secret Service head (Butler), and an English MI-6 agent who rightly trusts no one.

Reprising their roles in support are Robert Forster as General Edward Clegg, Sean O'Bryan as NSA Deputy Director Ray Monroe, and Radha Mitchell as Leah Banning. Joining the returning cast members are Jackie Earle Haley, Alon Aboutboul, Charlotte Riley, and Waleed Zuaiter.

London Has Fallen is being produced by Gerard Butler, Alan Siegel, John Thompson, Les Weldon, and Mark Gill. The executive producers are Avi Lerner, Trevor Short, Peter Schlessel, Matt O'Toole, Boaz Davidson, Heidi Jo Markel, Christine Crow, Zygi Kamasa and Guy Avshalom. Lonnie Ramati is co-executive producer. Peter Heslop is co-producer.

Najafi's creative team includes production designer Joel Collins, costume designer Stephanie Collie, and cinematographer Ed Wild. Casting is by Elaine Grainger.

Focus Features will release London Has Fallen theatrically nationwide on October 2, 2015.

http://moviepilot.com/posts/2015/06/09/the...external,manual
Mike Banning is the main protagonist through the film, and honestly Gerard Butler's performance through the film is part of why the movie was able to succeed even though the premise of the movie isn't all together original. Mike is an ex-special forces soldier turned Secret Service Agent spent years growing close to the Presidential family as he is on their immediate detail and spends time getting to know them all until one fateful night when he has to make a split second decision on a snow-covered bridge that ultimately saves the President but has to watch as the First Lady plummets to a sure death. Wracked with distress over what happened, Mike is removed from the Presidential Detail and now works at the Treasury at a desk. Enter the Korean terrorists and Mike charges into action in an attempt to rescue the president and avert complete nuclear destruction to the U.S.

It's tough to recast Gerard Butler in just about anything, because I do actually thing that he was a great casting for the character with a slight bit of brooding tossed in with aggression and machismo to boot. And there are only a few actors who I think can effectively pull that off and still remain believable as a character so I'm choosing Chris Hemsworth.

Exclusive First Look At London Has Fallen

When we last saw him in Olympus Has Fallen, Gerard Butler’s peppery secret service agent Mike Banning had seen off most of North Korea’s special forces in a flurry of punching, gunplay and salty quips. At the time he may have seen an unlikely candidate to John McClane his way to a sequel, especially up against the more generously-budgeted White House Down, but audiences liked the cut of his jibes and back he is. This time it’s the Old Smoke that’s falling. Empire’s new issue features a first look at Banning in action in London Has Fallen. Click below for a closer look.

This sequence, shot in the same Charing Cross location used in Skyfall, sees Butler’s agent dispensing justice to a terrorist in a rubble-strewn Underground station. Well, hopefully it's a terrorist. It could just be a commuter who's picked the wrong man to ask directions from.

It's a fun franchise," enthuses Butler in Empire. "You get to do a lot of really badass action, but it's got its tongue firmly in its cheek."

Again, it’s left to Banning to save the day, possibly with a little help from one of his MI6 counterparts (Charlotte Riley), when President Asher (Aaron Eckhart) is targeted in London at the funeral of the Prime Minister. Other world leaders are also in jeopardy. Angela Bassett’s Secret Service director Lynn Jacobs and Morgan Freeman’s Speaker Allan Trumbull are both on hand to lend a hand/thicken the plot.

Radha Mitchell is back as Leah Banning, with Jackie Earle Haley, Melissa Leo, Robert Forster and Colin Salmon all aboard. Christian Gudegast, Creighton Rothenberger and Katrin Benedikt were on scripting duties.
