London Has Fallen heads to AFM

EXCLUSIVE: Nu Image will kick off talks on what is likely to become one of the must-haves of the market as Gerard Butler, Aaron Eckhart and Morgan Freeman prepare to reprise their roles from the original action smash.

Millennium Films is producing and financing London Has Fallen and Alan Siegel and Gerard Butler’s G-Base will also produce.

Focus Features will release in the US under the auspices of incoming CEO Peter Schlessel, whose FilmDistrict distributed the original last spring.

Shooting is scheduled to begin in London on May 5 2014 on the story of a plot to strike the city during the funeral of the British Prime Minister. Only the President Of The United States, his secret service head and an English MI6 agent can save the day. Angela Bassett and Radha Mitchell also star.

Butler, Siegel, Mark Gill, Matt O’Toole and Danny Lerner will serve as producers while executive producers are Avi Lerner, Trevor Short, Boaz Davidson, John Thompson and Christine Crow.

Katrin Benedikt and Creighton Rothenberger will return to write the screenplay and the producers are out to directors.

Olympus Has Fallen (pictured) scored $161m worldwide earlier this year, of which $62.1m came from international and $98.9m from domestic box office.

Ma che razza di progetto! Sarà praticamente un trita ritrita del prequel...che nn è che sia stato questo grande capolavoro Che delusione, quasi quasi era meglio il remake... nn c capisco più nulla!!!

Focus Features has acquired U.S. distribution rights to “London Has Fallen,” sequel to “Olympus Has Fallen,” and set an Oct. 2, 2015 release date.

“London Has Fallen” will go up against Fox’s “Frankenstein” on the date. Gerard Butler has returned for the sequel, which does not have a director.

The story will take place in London with an attack on the city during the funeral of the British prime minister, who has died under mysterious circumstances. Butler will reprise his role as a U.S. Secret Service agent.

The script for the sequel is written by Creighton Rothenberger, Katrin Benedikt and Christian Gudegast. The film is being produced by Butler, Alan Siegel, Mark Gill, and Matt O’Toole.

“Olympus Has Fallen” was released last year in March by FilmDistrict, the U.S. distributor led by Peter Schlessel prior to him being named CEO of Focus Features. The film grossed $98.9 million at the domestic box office.

... La storia si svolgerà a Londra con un attacco alla città durante il funerale del primo ministro britannico, che è morto in circostanze misteriose. Butler riprenderà il suo ruolo di Agente dei Servizi segreti degli Stati Uniti... eccetera eccetera...

... Cioè leggi la trama e ti accorgi che non è che una fotocopia dell'OHF, hanno solo cambiato città ...
