(e un magazine dice addirittura che è il primo...giusto?)
http://www.homemediamagazine.com/research/...es-charts-17634Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment’s Up was an easy victor in the weekly DVD and Blu-ray Disc sales competition, bowing at No. 1 on both the Nielsen VideoScan First Alert sales chart and VideoScan’s Blu-ray Disc sales chart.
The animated Pixar hit, with a domestic box office gross of $293 million, generated 24% of its week-one disc sales from the Blu-ray Disc format, a new high for a family film.
Despite the high sales tally, Up snagged a second-place finish on Home Media Magazine’s rental chart for the week ended Nov. 15. There, Up was outpaced by Sony Pictures’ The Ugly Truth, a romantic comedy with Katherine Heigl that earned $88.9 million in U.S. theaters.
Up debuted as the week’s No. 2 rental, pushing last week’s top rental, Paramount’s G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, to the No. 3 spot.
On the sales chart, The Ugly Truth bowed at No. 2, but its unit sales only amounted to a scant 16.3% of Up sales, which Home Media Magazine market research estimates are nearing the 5 million unit mark after only six days in stores.
G.I. Joe also slipped to No. 3 on First Alert.
On the Blu-ray Disc chart, Disney didn’t just snag the top spot with Up, but also laid claim to the No. 2 position with the earlier Pixar hit Monsters, Inc., which debuted on Blu-ray the same day as Up. Sales of the Monsters, Inc. Blu-ray were so strong the film bowed at the No. 6 spot on the overall sales chart.
